Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot
Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot
Let us paint the picture for you of our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot.
The beginning of Spring evokes so much emotion. If you’re lucky enough to witness it in the Northeast, you’ll know there is nothing more inspiring than fresh flowers after a particularly chilly winter. Now add the architecture of a European inspired estate. Yes, please! You can find the stunningly beautiful backdrop of our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot located atop a hillside nestled just north of the bustle of Philadelphia in the Historic District of Bryn Athyn. Because of its perfect architecture and landscaping, Cairnwood Estate became the magnificent backdrop of our European Garden Inspired Shoot. Desirée of Devoted Wolf Events put together the swoon worthy team of wedding vendors in order to create a vintage, old world garden at the lovely estate.
The stunning details of our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot begin with the clean, Peachy Pink stationery suite that was created by Joanna with Eros Studios. “I wanted it to be modern, romantic and be indicative of a classy, elegant bride but with an edge – someone who likes to try something new but still respects formality and etiquette.”
The breathtaking bride, Justyna, wore a solid Ivory Marisa Bridals ball gown from Serendipity Bridal Collections located in Northfield, New Jersey and the groom, Evan, can be seen wearing a black on black Calvin Klein suit.
The brides hair and makeup was created by Allison of Allison C Beauty. Allison has some tips when trying to create your wedding day look. “For brides’ special day, Hair and Makeup should be a reflection of their personal style. This will ensure the bride feels her best and is comfortable for a long day surrounded by loved ones as well as lots of cameras. Sticking with the classics is always a great foundation on deciding what look to go for, but the classics can always be modified to match the theme or style of the wedding itself. Brides should look for inspiration pictures in places such as bridal magazines, Pinterest, red carpet looks, and bridal dress designer campaigns. Makeup should be fresh, clean and really emphasize the eyes especially for portraits and detail shots. Hairstyles should flatter the brides natural bone structure and hair extensions can also be added to provide length and/or volume. Brides should remember that their wedding day is going to be recorded forever and this is the time to trust the professionals to make them look and feel their very best!”
The accessories for the Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot wouldn’t have been complete without a stunning jewelry set from Johnsen Diamond and the always fashionable Badgley Mischka bridal shoes.
The cake and macarons were designed by Beatriz of Sweeter Layers.
Melissa, with Vintage Kissed Rentals, brought some amazing and authentically vintage table settings and furniture to our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot to help create a romantic atmosphere. “Every single one of our vintage pieces are hand picked by us and we love to think about its history; the family tables they have graced and the parties they attended. Our vintage treasures add texture, beautiful tones, and elegant details to any event, large or small.” With names like The Biltmore and Viola, every single piece feels dripped in nostalgia.
The flowers. Oh, the flowers! Sally, with Pink Dahlia Vintage brought the most eye catching florals that helped accentuate the natural beauty of the surrounding property. “Some of the main flowers that I used were roses, ranunculus of several varieties, hellebores, fritillaria, sweetpeas, and various foliage. One of my favorite flowers used was called Eze ranunculus. It has an old world dusty mauve color that was perfect for the European styled shoot. I also used creeping thyme in some of the smaller arrangements because I love using fragrant herbs mixed with lovely and romantic flowers. The style of my design is garden-esque and organically romantic. I love to use flowers, foliage, branches, and herbs that you would find in a local garden. I so admire the British floral designer, Constance Spry, who drew inspiration for her designs from Dutch 17th-18th century flower painters. She was known for using unusual plant material foraged from outside gardens and spaces to use along side of lovely blooms. I am at home with this style. The color palette for the shoot was blush and cream mixed with mauve and berry tones with just a few touches of golden yellow for a rich contrast. I wanted to convey in the designs a feeling of romance and opulence to match the architecture of the Cairnwood Estate. This estate was known for it’s gardens and I wanted to, in essence, bring the garden indoors.”
Of course, no one would have been able to see the finished product of our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot had it not been for the superbly talented Myra of Myra Roman Photography. Not only is she super fun to work with, she’s extremely knowledgable as well. While dress “shopping” she pointed out features that would photograph well and features that would not photograph well. While shooting, she was directing her bride and groom with posing angles and tips and tricks. Her photography is impeccable but her attention to her couples make her a truly wonderful wedding photographer.
The entire day of our Cairnwood Estate Wedding Shoot was captured on video too! Diana and Korey, the super fun duo of Diana and Korey Photo and Film followed everyone around all day, getting behind the scenes footage and witnessing true love unfolding in front of their eyes. Again. Because, you see, Evan and Justyna aren’t models. *GASP* Nope. They’re just a newly married couple. Young and in love. Just like you!

“I cannot say enough about this stellar team of rockstars. Everyone arrived with their A-game (and a bunch of doughnuts and coffee!) I’m so thankful for each and every one of them and reminded every day how awesome our jobs really are! We get to work with love. That’s literally what we do. And nothing is more special or more rewarding. And in order to continue to work with love, we have to be willing to be daring, to be creative, and think outside of the box. That’s why I love styled shoots so much. Not only is it a great way to work with your favorite friendors, it’s also a good way to network and meet new vendors in a more laid back environment. Showcasing our talents. Being creative is a must in our industry and these shoots are the best way for us to truly get creative with no restraints.” —Desirée
